Description:

You will be part of the newly formed Data science and Analytics team at Avantio. Our mission is to drive growth for our clients by innovating and optimising technology through the use of machine learning and AI.

You will play an important role in the development of our Dynamic Pricing model and Advanced analytics features and help to lay the foundation for further innovation in these areas. The Data Scientist is responsible for developing and implementing advanced machine learning models, including dynamic pricing algorithms and revenue management tools. This role will also support advanced analytics features within our Property Management System (PMS), providing actionable insights to drive decision-making for our partners

Key Responsibilities:

• Model Development:

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for dynamic pricing of vacation rental properties.
• Perform feature engineering, model training, and model evaluation to ensure high accuracy and performance.

• Data Analysis and Insights:

• Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends and patterns.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.

• Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with Data Engineers to ensure data availability, quality, and accessibility for modelling.
• Provide support in integrating machine learning models into the PMS and other applications.

• Performance Monitoring:

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models, making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into model performance and business impact.

• Research and Innovation:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning, AI, and data science.
• Experiment with new algorithms, tools, and techniques to continuously improve our data science capabilities.

What are we looking for?

• Masters or a relevant degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• 3-5 years of experience in developing and or implementing machine learning models
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Programming language such as Python
• Experience of working with Machine learning libraries and frameworks
• Strong understanding of different modelling techniques and statistical analytics.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau etc
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management
• Experience of working with large data sets

Useful to have:

• Previous experience in the vacation rental, hotels or property management industry is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS.
• Experience in modelling demand and pricing strategies
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
