Hello! We are Volotea, the airline of the small and mid-sized cities in Europe.

We have 21 operational bases: Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Strasbourg, Lille, Lourdes, Lyon, and Brest in France; Venice, Verona, Palermo, Cagliari, Olbia, Florence, Bari, and Naples in Italy; Asturias and Bilbao in Spain; Athens in Greece; and Hamburg in Germany.

We are hiring a Data Scientist who has experience in interacting with different cultural environments and can work in a challenging high-growth atmosphere.

What you will do:

• Combine independent problem-solving tasks with proactive integration in a highly dynamic team.
• Play with different data sources to identify, define and develop new process optimization strategies.
• Maintain, update and improve existing algorithms and machine learning models.
• Explore current industry trends and recent academic research to update and enhance the in-house workflows.

What you will need:

• Degree in analytical field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or other technical field). Master Degree in Data Science, AI, Applied Maths, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning or similar will be highly valued.
• At least one year of experience in data mining, software development, statistics or machine learning.
• Strong programming skills with Python and knowledge of SQL.
• Experience in software design, testing and cloud platforms.
• Ability to think analytically, quantitatively, and creatively.
• Good Communications skills.
• Advanced level of Spanish and English.
• Knowledge in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform will be a plus.
• Exposure to Big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive or Impala will be highly valued.
• Experience in software design, testing and cloud platforms.
• Ability to think analytically, quantitatively, and creatively.
• Good Communications skills.
• Advanced level of Spanish and English.
