THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite has established a world-class information technology infrastructure and team, positioning the organization to elevate its standards and provide industry-leading platform services to event creators and consumers alike. In the role of Director of Information Technology, you will assume responsibility for the oversight and enhancement of our global IT infrastructure, operations, and support functions. This includes managing technical support for corporate applications, overseeing project planning and delivery, and providing strategic technical leadership to our team and throughout the organization.

THE ROLE

As the Director of Information Technology, you will spearhead roadmap planning, overseeing projects and programs, and crafting a visionary strategy for both immediate and long-term initiatives. Your responsibilities will extend to developing OKRs and comprehensive metric packages to provide profound insights into our operating models, facilitating the swift transformation of our support functions towards enhanced efficiency, growth, and scalability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll identify pivotal opportunities, formulating a compelling strategy to elevate IT Operations and Support to new heights. This role demands a balance of strategic thinking, impeccable execution, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will thrive in these dimensions, ensuring maximum output from the team. YOU WILL

  • Strategically Lead IT Operations and Support: Develop a visionary and strategic roadmap for IT Operations and Support to drive highly impactful outcomes that accelerate organizational growth.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Partner closely with various departments to deeply understand user needs, enabling the identification and definition of solutions and project requirements.
  • Proactive Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key and critical stakeholders to proactively address rapid changes, shifting the focus from reactive to proactive approaches, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Metrics Development for Enhanced Insights: Design and implement metrics and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that provide comprehensive insights, aligning with broader organizational goals.

THE SKILL SET

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, scalability, and reliability of our IT infrastructure and shared services supporting operations across the world, including SaaS providers, IDP, MFA, networks, telecommunication, hardware, logistics, shared services etc.
  • IT Security and Compliance: Support ongoing IT policies and procedures, including controls that support our SOX/SOC/PCI compliance programs. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and industry best practices. Mentor and coach the IT team for professional growth.
  • Resource Management: Manage IT costs, making strategic decisions to allocate resources effectively and efficiently. Develop an enterprise resource planning framework for better cost projections, budgeting, growth, onboarding / hiring.
  • Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with external vendors, assist with contract negotiations, and manage third-party services to ensure high-quality IT services.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and motivate a talented IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Experience: 5+ years of IT management experience, ideally with cloud technology companies that are e-commerce, consumer based.
  • Should be a self-starter with a proven track record of execution and results.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence and work as part of a team.
  • Data-driven, analytical problem solver.
  • User-first mindset with experience in user research and testing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
